Quarter One Week Two Update

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Here is Archway Trivium East's consumable book list. Please make sure your scholar has the supplies they need. This week, we will begin our studies in earnest and it is important your child can follow along with our class.

I cannot believe we have already finished the first week of school! This was a very exciting week and I'm truly looking forward to our adventures this year.

I wanted to remind everyone that the assessments we took this week were pre-tests to give teachers baseline data. These assessments will not be factored into the students’ grades.

Here is a look at what we will be doing in the classroom next week:

Language Arts:

Spalding - We will jump in with a review of manuscript handwriting. We will also practice both written and oral phonogram reviews this week.

Grammar - We will start our Language Arts journals, practicing summaries and vocabulary studies. 

Literature - We have begun and will continue reading Aladdin: Tales from the Arabian Nights. Please send Little House on the Prairie in with your student this week. We will be reading that next.

Math:

We started last week with some math games and will go directly into place value instruction on Monday. Students will deepen their understanding of numbers by manipulating, comparing, ordering, and rounding numbers up to 10,000. 

History:

We have started and will be continue our spatial reasoning and maps unit by learning about rivers and continents.
