I can't believe this is our last week of school before break! I am so privileged that I get to spend everyday with your students. The amount of growth both academically and in virtue has been astounding for such a short amount of time together. We have a great class and I truly love coming in to see their smiling faces(and sometimes grumpy faces) everyday. Encourage your students to give their all this week. If we finish strong then the break will be well deserved. Here is an overview of our week.
Language Arts
Composition/Grammar: This week is a composition week. We will be focusing again on the background to C. S. Lewis.
Spalding: We will continue working through our words. If your student could use support in Spalding, please send them in Tuesday mornings for tutoring. Tutoring will be held in my classroom from 7:10-7:45.
Literature: We finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! Your students enjoyed talking about the family dynamics seen and the redemption in the book. This week will be spent on Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol.
Singapore: We have been working on multiplication and division. This week we will dive deeper by adding multiplication and division word problems into the mix. We will also continue studying two and three digit multiplication. Please send your scholar into math tutoring on Wednesday mornings from 7:10-74:45 for extra support.
History: In science this week we will continue our study of body systems and introduce Project Week. Information will be sent home later this week.
As always please email me with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Miss Elfelt
